Imagine If Short Film Contest
Official Rules and Guidelines


Eligibility:

The contest is open to any person or persons who are at least 13 years of age. By participating, entrants agree to be bound by these Official Rules and the decisions of GFA, which are binding and final on matters relating to this contest. Void where prohibited. Contest is subject to all applicable federal, state and local laws.


Contest Period:

Contest entry begins at 12:01 a.m. Central Standard Time (“CST”) on March 14, 2014, and ends at 11:59 p.m. CST on September 19, 2014 ("Contest Entry Period").

Voting for an entry will begin after the entry has been approved and uploaded to our video platform by GFA. Entrant will be notified via email when the video is available for public voting. Voting will end on September 30, 2014, at 11:59 p.m. CST ("Voting Period"). Winners will be announced on Wednesday, November 5, 2014.


To Enter the Contest:

• Review and agree to all contest rules and eligibility requirements and terms and conditions.
• Register for the contest prior to submitting a video. (We highly recommend registering as soon as possible to receive helpful tips, deadline updates and voting reminders from GFA via email.)
• Submit the video entry. GFA reserves the right to allow for minor fluctuations between the video length limitation stated herein and the actual length of a Video Entry submitted in this contest, as well as other minor deviations from these Official Rules, based on clear intent to comply with these Official Rules, as determined by GFA in its sole discretion. Submissions generated by script, macro or other automated means or by any means which subvert the entry process are void. GFA reserves the right to ask entrant to edit and resubmit the Video Entry at any time.


Video Entry must meet these requirements:

• Video Entry must no longer than 7 minutes.
• Video Entry must use the phrase “Imagine If” using on-screen text or through audio.
• Video Entry must be in English.
• Video Entry must be in one of the following formats: .avi, .mov, .mpg, .mpeg, .wmv, .qt, .mp4, .flv, .ram, .ogm, .mpeg4, .mp4v.
• Video Entry must be 300MB (megabytes) or less


Video Entry may not contain, as determined by GFA, in its sole discretion, any content that:

• Is unnecessarily violent or derogatory of any ethnic, racial, gender, religious, professional or age group; profane or pornographic; contains nudity;
• promotes alcohol, illegal drugs, tobacco, firearms/weapons (or the use of any of the foregoing);
• promotes any activities that may appear unsafe or dangerous;
• promotes any particular political agenda or message;
• is obscene or offensive; endorses any form of hate or hate group;
• appears to duplicate any other submitted Video Entries;
• defames, misrepresents or contains disparaging remarks about GFA, its products or services, other people or companies;
• contains trademarks, logos, or trade dress (such as distinctive packaging or logos or building exteriors/interiors) owned by others, without permission, to the extent permission is necessary;
• is sexually explicit or suggestive;
• contains any personal identification, such as license plate numbers, personal names, e-mail addresses or street addresses;
• contains copyrighted materials owned by others (including music, photographs, sculptures, paintings, and other works of art or images published on or in websites, television, movies or other media), without permission, to the extent permission is necessary;
• contains materials embodying the names, likenesses, voices, or other indicia identifying any person, including, without limitation, celebrities and/or other public or private figures, living or dead, without permission;
• contains look-alikes of celebrities or other public or private figures, living or dead;
• communicates messages or images inconsistent with the positive images and/or good will with which GFA wishes to associate; and/or
• violates any law.


Video Entry must be the original work of the entrant, may not have been previously published, may not have won previous awards, and must not infringe upon the copyrights, trademarks, rights of privacy, publicity or other intellectual property or other rights of any person or entity. If the Video Entry contains any material or elements that are not owned by the entrant, and/or which are subject to the rights of third parties, the entrant is responsible for obtaining, prior to submission of the Video Entry, any and all releases and consents necessary to permit the use and exhibition of the Video Entry by GFA in the manner set forth in these Official Rules, including, without limitation, name and likeness permissions from any person who appears in or is identifiable in the Video Entry. GFA reserves the right to request proof of these permissions in a form acceptable to GFA from any entrant at any time. Failure to provide such proof may, if requested, render Video Entry null and void. By submitting a Video Entry, entrant warrants and represents that he/she and any persons appearing or who are identifiable in the Video Entry consent to the submission and use of the Entry in the contest and to its use as otherwise set forth herein. By submitting a Video Entry, entrant represents and warrants that the Video Entry conforms to these Official Rules and understands that GFA, in its sole discretion, may disqualify a Video Entry for any reason, including if it determines, in its sole discretion, that the Video Entry fails to conform to these Official Rules in any way or otherwise contains unacceptable content as determined by GFA, in its sole discretion.


By submitting a Video Entry, entrant hereby grants permission for the Video Entry to be posted on GFA's social media pages or other websites and otherwise used in accordance with the rights granted herein. Entrant agrees that Released Parties (as defined above) are not responsible for any unauthorized use of Video Entries by third parties. Released Parties do not guarantee the posting of any Video Entry and may take down the Video Entry at any time and for any reason.


Publicity Grant:

The entrant who submitted a Video Entry, except where legally prohibited, grants permission for GFA and its designees to use his/her name, address (city and state), photograph, voice, and/or other likeness and prize information for advertising, trade, and promotional purposes without further compensation, in any and all media now known or hereafter discovered, in any manner, worldwide in perpetuity, without notice or review or approval. Each person(s), by acceptance of prize, except where legally prohibited, grants permission for the GFA and its designees to use its name, trademarks and logos for advertising, trade, and promotional purposes without further compensation, in any and all media now known or hereafter discovered, in any manner, worldwide in perpetuity, without notice or review or approval.


Winner Determination:

There will be two winners. One winner will be selected from the Video Entries that receives the most public votes in the announced voting timeframe. The second winner will be selected by GFA.

Public Voting:
During the Voting Period, all eligible Video Entries will be posted on the Site and will be subject to voting by visitors to the Site. Visitors to the Site will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite Video Entry. Limit one (1) vote per person/e-mail address per 24-hour period. Please Note: Any attempt to use multiple e-mail or other tactics to enter or vote more than the stated limit may result in disqualification and all associated Video Entries and/or votes will be void. Votes generated by script, macro, bot, robotic or automatic devices, commercial Contest subscription, vote-swapping sites, voting software, entering service sites or any other automated means, and votes by any means that subvert the voting process or do not conform to the spirit of these Official Rules will void the Entry and/or votes and may disqualify the entrant. Entrants are prohibited from obtaining votes, and voters are prohibited from soliciting votes on behalf of entrants, by any fraudulent or inappropriate means, including, without limitation, offering prizes, payments or other inducements to members of the public (including, without limitation, offering to trade votes), as determined by GFA in its sole discretion, and all associated votes may be void and such entrants disqualified.

GFA Selection:
The GFA selected Video Entry will be judged on the following criteria.


Judging:

All eligible Video Entries will be judged by GFA based on the following judging criteria:
• Mention of “Imagine If” within submitted video either as part of the script, narrated, or in text on the screen
• Appropriately displays need of selected category
• Storytelling quality
• Video production quality
• Audio quality and clarity
• Ability to connect Western audience to South Asian predicament


Prize:

• One-on-one consultation and critique with award-winning filmmaker.

• GFA Selected Video Entry and the Publically Voted Video Entry Winner will be displayed on Gospel for Asia's Website and will be publically announced through GFA’s communication channels determined by GFA, in its sole discretion.

• Framed movie poster, signed by Grammy Nominated Recording Artist, Natalie Grant.
